The Children’s Program has upgraded the security license for our emails in order to assure you a secure and encrypted system for sending anything that contains Protected Health Information (PHI). All email to patients is secure and HIPAA compliant, however this new feature will add another layer of encryption in cases where PHI is part of the email.

A recipient’s reply to the Microsoft Office 365 Encrypted email is also encrypted.

Opening An Encrypted Email

Patients will receive an email from Microsoft Office 365 with the encryption notification, they need to click on Read the Message:

A new page will open, select sign in with a one-time passcode:

Patients need to retrieve the code sent via email received by Microsoft Office 365 Message Encryption, highlight and copy:

Enter or paste into the one-time passcode box:

Click Continue to open the email
